Romans 4:19
(Abraham) being not weak in faith, considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
Romans 4:19
(Abraham) being not weak in faith, considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
What Are You Considering?
And (Abraham) being not weak in faith, considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform (Romans 4:19-21).
Wherefore, Holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession (confession), Christ Jesus (Hebrews 3:1).
To consider is to fix our gaze upon, to pay close attention to.
Proverbs 4:20-22 tells us that we are to pay attention to God’s Word. We are to hear His Word. We are not to let His Word depart from our eyes. We are to keep His Word in the middle of our heart or our spirit. Why? Because His Word is life, health, medicine to all our flesh.
God told Joshua when he was stepping into Moses’ place that he was not to let the Word depart out of His mouth, but he was to meditate on it day and night, the he may observe to do according to all that is written (the Word), for then he would make his way prosperous, and have good success or do wisely (Joshua1:8).
From these three scriptures (and there are many others for those who want to do some further study) we can draw some very decisive conclusions on what we are to consider.
First of all, we do not consider or take into account negative earthly, fleshly circumstances, which are trying to dictate to us what we are to gaze upon. The flesh, the world’s system, circumstances scream at us: Look at me. Can’t you see you are going down the drain. Take a good long look at me. I want you to pay attention to me.
For many years Abraham did consider his physical body. But then something changed him. God changed his name from Abram to Abraham. So Abraham had to change his confession to father of many nations. That word that he heard constantly got into his heart (that’s called meditation), and he became fully persuaded that God’s Word was true for him.
So we see from Abraham and from the scripture in Hebrews 3:1 and Proverbs 4:20-22 and Joshua 1:8 that we are to speak of God’s Word day and night. We are to think on what He says instead of what people say, what our body says, what our checkbook says. Day and night, night and day, we are to consider Jesus and His Word. We are to put aside negative considerations and negative possibilities. We are to stop running the videos of “what if.” There is only one “what if” with God. It is His Word and His ability to perform His Word for you.
God told Joshua that meditating or thinking continually on His Word would make Joshua’s life prosperous, and that Joshua would have good success and deal wisely. God is not a man that He can lie. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is no respecter of persons. If that is what He told Joshua, that is what He is telling us.
Here is what God is saying: CONSIDER ME! CONSIDER MY WORD! DON’T CONSIDSER ANYTHING ELSE! LOOK AT ME! SEE ME WORKING IN YOUR LIFE! REFUSE TO SEE ANYTHING ELSE! IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE HOW DIFFICULT THE CIRCUMSTANCE SEEMS OR HOW IMPOSSIBLE IT SEEMS TO ACHIEVE VICTORY, REFUSE TO LOOK AT ANYTHING ELSE BUT JESUS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF YOUR FAITH!
The fruit of the Holy Spirit in my spirit, the work which His presence within me accomplishes, is love, joy, peace, patience or steadfastness, gentleness, goodness, faith or faithfulness, meekness, and self-control. Because the Holy Spirit dwells within me, His love, the Love of God has been shed abroad, poured out in my heart.
The Fruit, Forces Of The Spirit
Today’s confession may seem long to you, but I believe it all fits together. Confess this word every day of your life to become a more Christ-like person. It will change you every day.
Galatians 5:16,18,22,23,24,25, Amplified Bible
I am born again. Therefore, I have the Holy Spirit living in me, with all His fruit or the forces of His Spirit residing in my spirit.
I walk and live habitually in the Holy Spirit.
I am responsive to, controlled by and guided by the Holy Spirit. Then I will not certainly gratify the cravings and desires of my flesh, my human nature without God.
I am guided, led by the Holy Spirit. I belong to Christ Jesus, the Messiah and have crucified the flesh, my godless human nature, with its passions and appetites and desires.
I live by the Holy Spirit and walk by the Spirit.
By the power of the Holy Spirit I have my life in God. I go forward walking in line, my conduct controlled by the Spirit.
The fruit of the Holy Spirit in my spirit, the work which His presence within me accomplishes, is love, joy, peace, patience or steadfastness, gentleness, goodness, faith or faithfulness, meekness, and self-control. These are forces that come out of my spirit and produce Godly results in my life. Out of the abundance of my heart or spirit, my mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34). As I give voice to God’s Word, it releases the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus in my life and the lives of others whose lives I touch (Romans 8:2).
Romans 5:5 and 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, Amplified Bible
Because the Holy Spirit dwells within me, His love, the Love of God has been shed abroad, poured out in my heart.
Therefore, through the power of the fruit or force of God’s Love in my heart:
I endure long and am patient and kind because God’s love in me endures long and is patient and kind.
I am never envious nor boil over with jealousy because God’s love in me is not envious or jealous.
I do not boast nor am I vainglorious because God’s love in me is not boastful or vainglorious.
I do not display myself haughtily because God’s love in me is not haughty.
I am not conceited, arrogant and inflated with pride because God’s love in me is not conceited, arrogant or inflated with pride.
I am not rude or unmannerly and I do not act unbecomingly because God’s love in me is not rude or unmannerly.
I do not insist on my own rights or my own way because God’s love in me does not insist on its own way.
I am not self-seeking, touchy, fretful or resentful because God’s love in me is not selfish, touchy, fretful or resentful.
I do not take an account of the evil done to me nor do I pay any attention to a suffered wrong because God’s love in me does not take account of evil done to Him nor pay attention to a suffered wrong.
I do not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but I rejoice when right and truth prevail because God’s love in me rejoices when right and truth prevail.
I bear up under anything and everything that comes because God’s love in me bears up under all things.
I am ever ready to believe the best of every person because God’s love in me believes the best of every person.
The hopes of God’s love in my heart are fadeless under all circumstances.
I endure everything without weakening because God’s love in me endures everything without weakening. God’s love in me never fails, fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end.
I believe God’s Word to me.
The Spirit of Faith
2 Corinthians 4:13
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
I have the spirit of faith.
I believe; therefore I speak.
I believe in; I trust in; I rely on; I cling to You, Lord.
You are the source of my strength and power.
It is You on Whom I rely and in Whom I build my confidence.
Thank You for taking care of me in all that I do.
I trust You completely with my life.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.
God has said He will never leave me or forsake me.
We as human beings are designed with a “believer” called our spirits. God placed in us the ability to believe and the right to choose what we believe. He gave us a soul, which is made up of our mind, will and emotions, to help us make choices. Ideally, our spirits direct our choices and our souls agree with those choices. But that is not always the case. The fears and worries of our emotions may cause our minds to ponder the wrong things and cause our wills to make wrong choices.
God’s Total Care For Me
Hebrews 13:5-9, 15, 20, 21, Amplified Bible
God Himself has said to me: I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not. I will not. I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down, relax my Hold on you! Assuredly not! So I take comfort and am encouraged and confidently and boldly say: The Lord is my Helper. I will not be seized with alarm. I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me?
I am convinced that God exists and that He is my Creator. He is Ruler of all things. He is the Provider and Bestower of eternal salvation through Christ to me. I lean my entire personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, His wisdom and His goodness because Jesus Christ is always the same yesterday, today and forever. My heart is established and strengthened with God’s grace. His favor and spiritual blessing are mine. They are upon me.
Through Him I constantly, at all times offer up the sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.
He is the God of peace (wholeness in every area of my life, with nothing missing or broken). He is the Author and Giver of peace. He is the One Who brought my Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, from among the dead by the blood that sealed the everlasting covenant, agreement. He strengthens me, completes me, perfects me. I am filled with His fullness, having no deficiency. He makes me what I ought to be and equips me with everything good so that I may carry out His will, while He Himself works in me and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen, so be it!
