THE ORIGIN OF SICKNESS AND DISEASE

God is love.  He always wants freedom for His people and blessings instead of curses.  He wants us to prosper, to succeed.  After all He has empowered us to prosper and be in health, even as our soul prospers (3 John 2).  He has paid the price for us to prosper and be health.  He took all our diseases and sicknesses upon Himself.  What He left us is healing and health.  They are ours.  It is our privilege to keep these blessings of health.  It is our responsibility to be aware of our freedom of health and to learn how to keep it.  We learn that from God’s Word.

Let’s go on a journey back to the first book of the Bible, Genesis, to the Garden of Eden, on this earth, with Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, created by God.

God gave Adam dominion or rulership over this earth.  Adam was a free man.  By an act of his will, Adam made satan his lord and thus gave the rulership of the earth to satan.  As a result, the nature of spiritual death which is in satan replaced the nature of spiritual life which is in God (zoe).  Divine health comes from spiritual life.  Sickness and disease (dis—ease) comes from spiritual death.

When man sinned or listened to satan and disobeyed God’s instructions, he died spiritually.  Spiritual death does not mean you no longer exist; it simply means that you are separated from God and thus open to everything satan has —- lack, want, death, sickness and disease, poverty, defeat, failure.  Sickness came as a result of spiritual death.  Man was not sick before.  There is no sickness in God, and God had breathed Himself into man.  Sickness comes from satan.  It is a perversion of health, the opposite to health.  Everything opposite to God comes with satan.

To this day satan hates the man God created and does everything he can do to destroy man.  Jesus told us that the thief (satan) comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have and enjoy life, have it in abundance, to the full, until it overflows.  That is divine health—-fullness, overflow of life.

It was not God’s will for Adam to sin.  Neither were the results of that sin God’s will.  God never intended for man to be sick or have to contend with sickness.  Sin is manifested in the spirit of man.  Sickness is manifested in the body of man.  All of it is a curse and not a blessing.  Both sin and sickness are a result of man’s forfeiture of rulership of the earth to satan and his demons and his works.  Both are works of evil and not of good.  But certainly neither is from God.

The curse is a powerful force on this earth, but God had a plan even before man fell.  The curse has overtaken the entire world, but God and His Word have the power to stop it.  Until Jesus came to permanently take care of that curse, God instituted statutes and ordinances (His Word, in essence) which Israel was to diligently keep.  Their keeping of these statutes and ordinances was their only way of deliverance.  God was not being harsh or demanding or trying to put a burden on people with these statutes.  He was showing them that this is what was necessary for their freedom.  However, they discovered they could not keep these laws.  God had already provided the solution.  Blood was shed from animal sacrifices to cover the people’s sins.  He always has a plan for His beloved people.

Then Jesus, the Living Word, came and shed His blood to redeem man from the curse of the law.  That was the ultimate plan God had all along for His beloved ones.  Aren’t you glad you as His Beloved One have been redeemed from both sin and sickness and disease?

Thought of Wisdom 01-01-2013

It’s a new year.  What are your goals?  What are your dreams?  What are your plans?  What are your desires?  How is this year going to be different for you than last year?  Have you written down your dreams and desires for this new year?  What is it you want to see happen in this year for you and your family?  How about making this the year you begin to move out in the things you desire to do?

Healing Confession 01-01-2013

God is Love.

He wants freedom for me from sickness and disease.

He wants me blessed with health instead of being harassed with sickness and disease.

God is not the author of sickness; He is the author of health and healing.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

PREPARE THE WAY

It’s a new year.  How is this year going to be different for you than last year?  Have you written down your dreams and desires for this new year?  What is it you want to see happen in this year for you and your family?  What are you plans to make it happen?  Do you have any plans, or are you going to live from day to day like you perhaps did last year?  What are your goals?  What are your dreams?  What are your desires?  Why aren’t you pursuing them?

What is holding you back?  Are you afraid?  Are you afraid it won’t happen?  Are you afraid to step out of your comfort zone?

How about making this the year you begin to move out in the things you desire to do?  What are your excuses?  You’re too old?  You don’t have any money?  You don’t have any education?  You are too busy?  You’re a young parent with no space for your dreams?  You know something—-we all have excuses.  They all seem valid to us, but are they?

I once heard someone say that if you are afraid you won’t accomplish anything and make no goals, you will have done zero at the end of the year.  But what if you made goals and only accomplished one of them.  That is better than zero.  Words for you to ponder at the beginning of this new year.

Words we speak go forth before us and create the pathway for our future, create what we will be walking in, later in life.  In due time, those words which were sent on out ahead of us will do everything they can do to produce what we have said.  God created us human beings with our mouth and tongue being the main vehicle for our lives.  Don’t you find that very interesting?  No other creature produces by their words.  We have the ability to form words and those words in turn form the life that we live.

We will walk into the words we have put out in front of us, whether those words are good or bad, positive or negative, God’s word or man’s words about us.  These words will produce substance.  That substance will eventually become reality in our lives, if we speak those words long enough.

We are told in God’s Word that He has set before us life and death, blessing and cursing; choose life! (Deuteronomy 30:19)  His Word is life. (Proverbs 4:22)  That is to be our choice —- the life of His Word.  His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path —- pathway, future, life.  (Psalm 119:105) God gave us His Word so that we would have the good life, the abundant life that He promised.  (John 10:10)  He sent His Word to deliver us from destruction.  (Psalm 107:20)

In the way of righteousness is life and in its pathway there is no death.  (Proverbs 12:28)

God and His Word are life to us, and that is what we want going before us to make our pathway one of the good life of God.

Ephesians 2:10, Amplified Bible

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us, [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

MY FATHER’S PLEASURE

Let’s talk some more today about what pleases the Father.  When we look into the Word of God, there are some very definite scriptures on what pleases the Lord.  We will explore two of them today.

In Luke 12:22-32 Jesus was teaching on being free from anxiety, worries and concerns.  He gave the reason that we do not have to be anxious about anything—-God takes total care of us.  Prior to verse 32 He said that we do not have to take any thought for our life, what we shall eat, or for our body, what we shall put on.  Jesus assured us that God feeds the birds; He causes the lilies to grow; He clothes the grass, so why are we to worry about His taking care of us.  We cannot even add one inch to our stature by worrying about it.

Then Jesus makes a very definite statement:  Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you.  Do not have any fear or doubt or seek after what you shall eat or what you shall drink.  Why?  It is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

What did Jesus mean by this statement?  God takes pleasure in giving to you His kingdom, all that He has.  A kingdom belongs to a king.  Everything in that kingdom is his.  Therefore, Jesus said:  It gives God pleasure to give you all that is in His kingdom.  To find out what is in His kingdom all we have to do is read this book called the Bible which He has given to us.

The other scripture I want to note here is Psalm 35:27.

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause:  yes, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

In Strong’s Concordance, the word prosperity in this verse is shalom, which means safe, well, happy, health, welfare, prosperity, peace, whole, rest, favor.  It comes from the word shalam which means safe in mind, body or estate, completed, full, peace perfect, restore, make restitution, recompense, make prosperous, make good.  We can see from these words that they are a description of God, of His kingdom.  It is everything He is and has.  Altogether, these words mean to make complete, to restore.  Sounds to me like a restoration of everything we as mankind lost in the Garden of Eden.  Jesus brought back to us with His blood everything we had lost in that Garden.  Hallelujah!

As we said yesterday, God has great pleasure in your faith because of what it brings to you of the joys of His kingdom.  He also has pleasure in your prosperity.  Prosperity is what faith brings.  Prosperity is not all about money.  It includes money, but it is so much more.  Prosperity is being successful in every area of your life, going to the highest level of excellence in each area—-in your spirit, in your soul (which includes your mind, will and emotions), in your body, in your finances and in your relationships.

God takes pleasure in seeing you excel and succeed.  It gives Him great pleasure to give you the kingdom.  I am believing with you for a beautiful, excelling, successful year receiving the Father’s Kingdom, to give Him great pleasure.

Prayer Teaching 12-30-2012

BELIEVING IN PRAYER

What a way to start off our new year of 2013, which will be here in a few days!  Believe!  What will you believe in this year?  Will you believe at all?  If you do, will you believe big or small?  What is your goal this year for which you are believing?  Whatever you believe for, that is what you will get.  Believe big and receive big!  Believe small and receive small!

Take an inventory of this past year.  What did you believe for?  Did it come to pass?  Did you rejoice and thank God when it did?  Were you excited and did you tell others, to encourage them in their walk of faith?  Or were you too afraid to believe, for fear that you would not receive.  Regardless of what this past year held for you, why not make a decision to believe God for good things to happen to you this year.  Believing costs nothing.  It is a free choice.  Why not believe!

Believing God is trusting Him, having confidence in Him, relying on Him, regardless of what you think or what you encounter.  He is capable!  He is reliable!  He will bring you through to victory every time.  Blessing is the only vocabulary He knows.  We as human beings try to interject many other words into God’s vocabulary like failure, defeat, giving up, letting go, and walking away.  What is so encouraging to me is that God never gives up, never lets go and never walks away.  He is always right there, cheering us on to the victory line.

Prayer is about believing, never giving up, never letting go, never walking away.  There is nothing too hard that God cannot do something about it.  As one preacher said:  It is impossible for God to do nothing.  Put that sentence on your iPad and your smart phone and even on the outdated 3×5 card on your mirror as the first thing you see in the morning, on your refrigerator as the first thing you see when you open the door for food for breakfast.  IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO DO NOTHING!

Mark 11:22-24 tells you and me to have faith in God (that is believing).  Speak to your circumstance (not talk about it).  Tell that circumstance to move out of your way.  Once you speak to it, believe in your heart that those things YOU SAY shall come to pass.  Believe you shall have what you say.  THEREFORE, Jesus said to us, what things you desire, when you PRAY, BELIEVE you RECEIVE them and YOU SHALL HAVE THEM.

BELIEVE WHEN YOU PRAY!  This year go for it—-decide to believe, regardless of what you encounter.  Make it your goal that you are a believer, even if nobody else believes.

Psalm 27:13,14

[What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living!

Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring.  Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
