Thought of Wisdom 01-21-2013

Jesus came to this earth in order to take care of all the works of the devil.  Did you hear that little word “ALL”?  Yes, He came for the purpose of destroying the works of the devil.  That is the best news I have heard in my life.  It’s over.  The battle has been won.  The victory is ours.

AUTHORITY AND POWER, PART 5

1 John 3:8b, Amplified Bible and KJV

…For this purpose, reason, the Son of God was manifest, visible, that He might loosen, undo, dissolve, destroy the works of the devil.

Over the next several days we will see what Jesus has done so that we can have authority on this earth over satan and all of His works.

Today’s verse tells us that Jesus has destroyed the works of the devil.  What are the works of the devil?  Sickness and disease, want, lack, poverty, doubt, unbelief, defeat, failure, death are all works of the devil.  They are designed to bring us down and divert us from God’s best for us, which is health, prosperity in all areas of our lives, faith, victory, success, a sense of well-being (which is what shalom is).

Think about it:  Jesus came to this earth in order to take care of all the works of the devil.  Did you hear that little word “ALL”?  Yes, He came for the purpose of destroying the works of the devil.  That is the best news I have heard in my life.  It’s over.  The battle has been won.  The victory is ours.

How does victory come?  We personally stand our ground for what belongs to us and we do not let the thief come along and steal our goods.  Say this after me:  “Health is mine.  Victory is mine.  Success is mine.  Prosperity is mine.  All that God has is mine.  I stand and receive it for myself.  It is mine NOW!  I have been given the authority to take all that is mine.  God gave me His authority and His power.  I am not a weakling.  I am strong in the Lord.  I draw my strength from Him.”

Jesus is the Head.  We are the Body of Christ.

We and He work together.

Jesus was manifested to destroy the works of the devil.

We have been given His authority to destroy the works of the devil also because, as He is, so are we in this world.  He gave us His authority to take care of all the works of the devil in our lives.

I walk in the victory of Jesus Christ on this earth

Thought of Wisdom 01-20-2013

We are not to be cowering in some corner somewhere just waiting for the Lord to come back.  He is not coming back for a weak, passive bunch of cowards.  He is coming back for a victorious, overcoming church, one whose power and authority is made known to the kingdom of darkness.  We are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.  That’s who we are!

PEACE AND AUTHORITY

Mark 4:39

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still.  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Last week’s teaching leads into this week’s teaching.  There is an authority that the children of God carry, which is felt by those around them.  That authority is demonstrated in their peace.

There is absolutely nothing that can shake God’s peace, when we finally get an understanding of what we carry.  We are carriers of God’s peace.  He lives in us.  The Prince of Peace lives in us.  What we have to do is allow Him to be the One in charge when stuff begins to break down around us and bring panic and fear.

We must refuse panic.  We must refuse fear.  We must refuse the dictation of turmoil and stress in our lives.  No one said it is a cake walk to refuse these things of the world.  If it were, everyone would be doing it.  No, it takes a determination and courage to stand up in the face of contradictory circumstances and say:  No you don’t!  You are not determining my life!  You are not going to dictate the outcome of this circumstance!  The Lord Jesus Christ is in charge of my life, and no one else has that authority or right.  Now, leave me, in the name of Jesus!

Jesus told us when He left this earth that He was giving us His authority.  I often thought what a risk God took in releasing the power of His authority to us as His children.  Wow!  He must have some confidence in us.  Well, don’t you think it is about time we have some confidence in His authority in us.  Let’s do something with what He has given to us.

As carriers of God’s authority we speak and it is done.  Yes, it is that simple.  You’re saying it doesn’t happen when you speak!  Why?  I’ll tell you why.  I have had the same challenge.  When I speak God’s Word in the face of circumstances telling me the opposite, I don’t see anything change, week after week, month after month.  What is going on here?  There is an enemy, satan, who is attempting to convince us that we are weak little nothings who have no power and no authority.  He tells us:  “Oh, yes, those preachers tell you that you do have all of this and all of that, but look at the reality of your life.  Does your life demonstrate power and authority results?”  Of course, you agree with him and say, no.  Here is where it gets interesting.  Turn the tables on him.  Stand your ground.  Don’t give that lying devil one inch of ground.  Tell him that you will stand until hell freezes over if that is what it takes.  Of course, we all know that is not going to happen.

This authority of God is yours, given to you by the Prince of Peace, the Prince of wholeness in your life.  Today, make a quality decision that you are carrying God’s authority in this world and you are going to walk in the results of that authority operating in your life of prayer.  It is time to see the move of God in your life.  Don’t back down any more.  What have you got to lose?  You have already lost much.  Stand in your authority and take back what has been stolen from you.  It is time for restoration.  Make this your year of restoration because you have been given the authority of the Prince of Peace to walk in the wholeness of God in every area of your life—-spirit, soul, body, socially, financially.

Healing Confession 01-20-2013

Jesus destroyed the works of the devil for me; that includes sickness and disease.

He rendered satan powerless.

He defeated principalities and powers, stripped them of their authority over me.

Jesus stripped satan and all of his demonic forces of their authority over my body; therefore, they have no right to put sickness and disease on me.

I am free of sickness and disease.

Prayer Quote 01-20-2013

There is an authority that the children of God carry, which is felt by those around them.  That authority is demonstrated in their peace.

Healing Teaching 01-20-2013

GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY

God’s sovereignty over you is not that He does everything for you and you are just here in this world waiting on God to step in and overtake the devil for you.  He has already done that through the death of His son on the cross.  You may ask:  Exactly what did Jesus accomplish on the cross?  It is summed up in several scriptures.

Jesus destroyed the works of the devil (that includes sickness and disease).  Sickness is a work of the devil.  We are told right here that Jesus destroyed the devil’s works.

1 John 3:8b (Personalized)

The Son of God was made manifest, visible (appeared) to undo, loosen, dissolve, destroy or bring to naught the works of the devil.

Jesus rendered satan powerless.

Hebrews 2:14,15 (Personalized)

Jesus partook of flesh and blood (shared in our humanity) so that by going through death (dying) He brought to naught, reduced to zero, broke the power, rendered powerless or inoperative the devil who had the power or dominion of death and set us free, set us at liberty, delivered, redeemed, released us, who were held in bondage (slavery) to the fear of death all our lives.

Jesus defeated principalities and powers, stripped them of their authority over you.

Colossians 2:15 (Personalized)

Jesus stripped, disarmed, spoiled principalities and powers of their weapons and made a public display, spectacle, show of them openly, triumphing over them, leading them in a triumphal procession, celebrating victory over the enemy

Triumph is nothing new in terms of battle for soldiers.  The Romans had great parades after a victory, where they paraded their defeated enemies, who had been stripped naked, in a march before the cheering crowds of the Roman Empire.  Paul, who was familiar with this practice as a Roman citizen, used this language to describe Jesus’ victory parade after He defeated the enemies of God, was triumphant over the enemies of darkness.  In next week’s teaching we will discuss more of this custom in detail.

Jesus carried to the cross all the legal demands and decrees that the law of sin and death had made against you.

Colossians 2:13,14, Amplified Bible (Personalized)

And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ] having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions, having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us).  This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His]cross.

He was made the curse for you, suffering all its consequences on the cross, which included sickness and disease.

Galatians 3:13,14 (Personalized)

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us…that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ….

He Who knew no sin became sin for you, that you who knew no righteousness might become righteous (right with God).

2 Corinthians 5:21 (Personalized)

For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
