Proverbs 4:22
For they (Jesus’ words) are life unto those that find them, and healing and health (medicine) to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:22
For they (Jesus’ words) are life unto those that find them, and healing and health (medicine) to all their flesh.
I will rejoice in the Lord always.
Believe You Receive
In Mark 11 which we noted yesterday, Jesus made some very bold statements in verses 22-24 regarding prayer. This passage is the golden passage for all people of faith and prayer. Those who practice this passage, who are doers of this Word, get results in their lives.
Mark 11:22-24
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
This is Jesus talking. He is telling us what to do. It is a command.
HAVE FAITH IN GOD! If He tells me to have faith in God, my response should be: Yes, I have faith in God. I am going to add here that it does not make any difference whether you “feel” like you have faith in God or not. He said it. I believe it. With this decision in mind, let’s go to the next verse, believing that we have faith in God. Believe it for yourself right now. Are you ready for the next verse?
Jesus says: Speak to the mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea. Don’t doubt in your heart. Believe those things you say come to pass. You shall have whatever you say.
Let’s break this down in terms of prayer. Speak to the problem. This is what you say: “Be removed and be gone (something in the sea indicates gone, can’t be seen or detected anymore). I have the ability to believe. I have the ability not to doubt. Therefore, these things I say come to pass. I have what I say.” Yes, this is direct and to the point. You do what He says, and you have what He says.
Jesus caps this passage off in the next verse by saying: Therefore, I am going to put into practice what I just told you and SAY to you: “Whatever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive it and you will have it.” Once again, He is very direct and to the point. What do you desire? Pray. When you pray (right then), believe you receive it. Then you will have it.
I can hear lots of you right now saying: That’s easy for you to say. It doesn’t work for me. Well, it just did. You said it doesn’t work, and it doesn’t. I also have to practice this in the face of many contradictory circumstances. Sometimes those circumstances seem overwhelming and the answers to prayer seem lost in the distance somewhere. What both of us have to remember is that circumstances do not have the final word. God does. He says that we will receive what we believe and say when we pray. Period! End of paragraph! End of discussion! WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE? Are you willing to stand for it, regardless of the time it takes for you to receive it? I must remind you that God has already given it to you. The time frame involves your believing and receiving it. If you don’t back down, you will get it. God is no respecter of persons. If it worked for one person, it has to work for all people.
JUST HOW IMPORTANT IS PRAYER! IT IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE AIR WE BREATHE.
STAY THE COURSE! STAND STEADFAST WHEN TIMES ARE EASY OR TOUGH! TRUST GOD! HE IS YOUR SOURCE AND EVERLASTING PLACE OF REFUGE AND STRENGTH!
I will rejoice in the Lord always. Today is the day He has made for me. I will rejoice in this day. I will be glad in this day because He has made it just for me. This joy of the Lord is my strength. I am strengthened all day and all night with joy. I seek first the Lord and His Kingdom (His way of doing things) and His righteousness (His way of being right). I love the Lord my God with all my heart, all my mind, all my soul, and all my strength.
I speak the Word of healing to my body right now. Isaiah 53:4,5, Matthew 8:17 and 1 Peter 2:24 tell me that with the stripes that wounded Jesus I have been healed and made whole. I accept my healing according to the Word of God. According to Proverbs 4:22, as I speak the Word and hear the Word preached and see the Word of God, it is life to all my flesh. It is health and healing and medicine to all my flesh.
Why Do You Seek Me? Rejoice
The Lord has asked me this question. Why do you seek Me? I really had to do an evaluation of that question and what my answer to it would be. To be quite honest with you, I had to adjust my life. I saw that I was seeking Him as a supplier of my needs rather than as a friend Whom I loved and wanted to spend time with. Yes, it is true that He does supply our needs. Yes, it is true that He will give us the abundant life. Yes, it is true that He wants to give us prosperity in every area of our lives. But this one thing I know, and I have realigned myself accordingly with this knowledge: I am to seek Him because I love Him and want to be with Him. Out of His presence will come the supply. He is the supplier.
God desires friendship and fellowship. He is our Heavenly Father. He created us to be His children and to enjoy our relationship as Father and child. Jesus told us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things would be added unto us (Matthew 6:33). He also told us to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength. Out of this love relationship comes all that fulfills us and supplies our needs. As a friend of mine says: “It is a given.” In case you don’t know what that means, it means: It is a done deal. It is a finished work. “And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19, Amplified Bible).
Every day now I seek Him first and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as I pray and ask according to His direction. What a divine plan and what a divine relationship. It is a joy to be with Him. That leads me to the second thing that is strong in my heart.
Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice (Philippians 4:4)! This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalms 118:24). Every day we are to get up and rejoice, stir up our joy, that part of us that sees the good in all things and is content in the Lord. Joy is not a feeling. It is a fruit of our reborn spirit. It is part of God’s nature, His DNA. I have joy because I am His child, so I rejoice. I call it “rejuicing.” When my son was growing up, we called it joy juice. With your breakfast every day, take a big glass of joy juice. It will strengthen you for the day because the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Personalized Confession:
I will rejoice in the Lord always. Today is the day He has made for me. I will rejoice in this day. I will be glad in this day because He has made it just for me. This joy of the Lord is my strength. I am strengthened all day and all night with joy juice. I seek first the Lord and His Kingdom (His way of doing things) and His righteousness (His way of being right). I love the Lord my God with all my heart, all my mind, all my soul, and all my strength.
The Word of God
According to John 1:1-4,14, Jesus is the Word of God made flesh who dwelt among us. He was deposited in Mary’s womb as the Son of God, by the Word of God that Mary accepted into her physical body.
The Word of God is vibrating with the life of God on every page. God Himself has chosen to be written down on pages of ink and parchment. He has come to dwell in us and with us through His Word. Oh, the beauty of His Word. It breathes life to me every time I read it and gives food for my spirit man. His Word brings life to my physical body. I take it in and digest it. It becomes healing and health to my whole being.
Proverbs 4:20-22 tells us what God’s Word does for us. It also tells us how to take in God’s word. We are to pay attention to His Word; in other words, give time to His Word as first priority in our lives. We do this by listening to the Word and by looking at the Word and by keeping the Word of God in our hearts. Why are we to do this? His Word is life to us, medicine, healing and health to all our flesh. Well, there you go. God’s Word is your medicine. When you take it into your being, it becomes health and healing to all your flesh.
Many people find that when they confess God’s Word over their man-made medicine they are taking, they are able to stop taking that medicine after a period of time. Instead, they take God’s medicine. There are no harmful side effects and you can never overdose on it. That’s a blessing. A word of caution here: If you are on prescription drugs, do not go off them on your own. Work with your doctor. Obviously, as your symptoms lessen, you will need to take smaller and smaller doses of the medication.
The Word of God grows in you as you spend time daily in that Word. It grows up and becomes healing and health in your physical body. Give it time. Remember the Parable of the Sower. There are various things that happen as you spend time in the Word. Your enemy, the devil, will do everything he can to cause you to become discouraged and give up. Don’t give him the time of day. Every time he comes to aggravate you, double up on your Word intake. Pretty soon, he will let you alone, because he knows he has lost you.
For a moment let’s just look at the tactics of your enemy in Mark 4:14-20. Be on the alert for offense, strife, resentment, displeasure, negativity, cares, anxieties, distractions of the world, cravings for the things of this world and the stress that accompany them. Avoid these satanic traps like a poisonous snake. They will poison your mind and your spirit and bring destruction to you. The physical body was never designed to withstand these negative emotions and entrapments. Deliberately and decisively turn from them to Jesus and His love and joy and peace and life. He is the Way for you to go. He is the Truth that you are to follow. He is the Life that you want for your physical and emotional health. Embrace Him and His wholeness for your life. You will be glad you did!
How wonderful to know, My dear Heavenly Father, that You are watching over me and directing my life. Today and every day, Lord, I thank You for being with me. Holy Spirit, You live in me and I have received You as a gift from God. So, I honor You, God, and bring glory to You in my body. I go where You tell me to go. I say what You tell me to say. I do what You tell me to do. My life is in Your hands. What a joy to serve You and know that You are my God.
How wonderful to know, dear Heavenly Father, that You are watching over me and directing my life.
I accept! I receive the Light of God’s glory. I receive the benefits of His Presence in my life. I receive healing and health. I receive righteousness, my sins forgiven and redeemed by the blood of the Lamb from the dominion of darkness, the realm of the curse and death. I am free forever. Jesus has forever set me free to worship Him.
