Godly Sleep

Psalms 3:5

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

Psalms 4:8, Amplified Bible

In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, LORD, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust.

Psalms 16:7-9, Amplified Bible

I will bless the Lord, Who has given me counsel; yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.

I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my inner self] rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety.

Psalms 127: 2, Amplified Bible

It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil—-for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.

Proverbs 3:24, Amplified Bible

When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.

Personalized Confession:

I lie down in peace and have sweet sleep, for the Lord protects me and makes me dwell in safety.  He is the One Who sustains me.  Even in the night seasons my heart instructs me with Godly counsel.  I will bless the Lord Who gives me counsel.  He is continually with me, and I shall not be moved.  My body shall rest.  I am not anxious or worried because the Lord gives blessings to me, His beloved child, in sleep.  I am His beloved and He blesses me in the night with pleasant, Godly dreams and sweet sleep.

Healing Is God’s Will

Jesus continually showed us God’s will while He was here on this earth.  He said that He came to do the Father’s will.  John 6:38:  “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”

Jesus told us that He only said and did what the Father showed him to say or do.  John 8:28:  “Then said Jesus unto them, When you have lifted up the Son of man, then shall you know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father has taught me, I speak these things.”

When the leper came to Jesus, that man said to Jesus (Matthew 8:2,3)  “… Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.  And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be clean.  And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”  Here we see Jesus telling the leper that it is His will to heal people.  We must understand the great significance in Jesus touching the leper because the law said that Jesus would be unclean if He touched a leper, but the power of God’s “clean” overtook the uncleanness of the sickness of leprosy.  Lepers were never touched, but Jesus touched him, to let him know that he was valuable to Jesus.  What a beautiful example of God’s willingness to heal the most dreaded of diseases.

In the gospels there are many examples of God’s willingness to heal, demonstrated through His Son Jesus.  Look at Jesus’ attitude toward sickness and disease while He was on the earth.  Never once did He turn away anyone who asked for healing, without providing healing for them.  Even the Syrophenician woman (a Gentile) received healing for her daughter when she asked Jesus   Her faith in His healing power was great, even in the face of what seemed unwillingness on His part to respond to her.  He was not unwilling; He was pleased with her persistence and I am sure longed that the Jews would have been as persistent.

As we look at other examples of healing in the Bible, let’s remember that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, so if He healed them, He will heal you.

Matthew 4:23,24

And Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.  And His fame went throughout all Syria:  and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy and he healed them.

Matthew 8:16,17

When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils:  and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.

Matthew 14:14

And Jesus went forth and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them and he healed their sick.

In Mark 6:53-56 we see people who were sick and touched the border of Jesus’ garment and were made whole.

Meditate on these scriptures until you see yourself healed with the touch of Jesus.  He wants to bring healing to you and see you whole and happy and enjoying life again.

God’s Perfect Love

Before we can get results in prayer or results in the spiritual realm on anything, we must know that God loves us.  Far too many people are upset with God because “He let them down,” or “He doesn’t care.”  When we know that somebody loves us, we know that they are not going to allow us to be hurt or in any way ignore us and our needs. It’s been too long that we are trying to love God and trying to love others, especially those who persecute us and not getting anywhere.  We try and try and try but fail time and time again.  The reason for this failure is that we are coming from the wrong angle.  First, we must know that God loves us and then that perfect love in us will love others as God intended they be loved.

1 John 4:17-19, Amplified Bible tells us that in the union and communion with God, love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence, assurance, boldness in the day of judgment to face Him because as He is, so are we in this world.  There is no fear in love but perfect love casts out, turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror.  He who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love, is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection.

We love Him BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US.

How is this perfect love developed?  It is developed by spending time with the Lord and getting to know Him.  Our focus must be on Him and how much He loves us, without regard to whether we are achieving the end result of knowing He loves us and we love Him.  When we spend too much time looking at ourselves and whether we are hitting the mark and whether we are loving as we should, all the focus and emphasis is on us, and we achieve nothing.  But when we start focusing on Jesus and looking at how much He loves us, it begins to happen.  Somewhere along the line, we realize that we do know how much He loves us.  Wow!  It is happening!  God really loves me!

Then His perfect love is stirring in me, is operating in me, is producing a place and a state of being where I know that nothing can hurt me because my dear Heavenly Father loves me.  Speak to yourself many times a day:  MY DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER LOVES ME.  HE REALLY LOVES ME.  HIS LOVE FOR ME IS UNCONDITIONAL, UNFAILING, UNENDING.  IT DOES NOT DEPEND ON MY GOODNESS OR BADNESS.  IT DEPENDS ON HIM.  HE LOVES ME WITHOUT ANY STRINGS ATTACHED.  HE SIMPLY LOVES ME.  I guarantee you that if you begin to focus on God’s love in that manner, you will come to know personally how much HE LOVES YOU!

When you reach that point where you know that God loves you, prayer is effortless because you are “talking it over” with the One Who loves you.  You know that He will take care of what you have discussed with Him.  You can leave it in His hands and He will take the responsibility for the results.  It is in His hands.  And you don’t worry and think, oh dear, what if???????  You know that you can trust Him with your petitions and desires and dreams.

Do you want further proof of God’s love?  Take a new look at the most familiar scripture verse in the Bible.  Take a totally new look at John 3:16.

For God

So LOVED

The world, YOU,

That He GAVE

HIS only begotten SON

That whosoever (that’s you) should BELIEVE in Him

Should not perish, but have everlasting LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer Quote 03-03-2013

My dear heavenly Father loves me.  He really loves me.  His love for me is unconditional, unfailing, unending.  It does not depend on my goodness or badness.  It depends on him.  He loves me without any strings attached.  He simply loves me.

Prayer Scripture 03-03-2013

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Healing Scripture 03-03-2013

Matthew 14:14

And Jesus went forth and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them and he healed their sick.

Healing Confession 03-03-2013

Healing is God’s will for me.  God never turns away anyone who comes to Him for healing.  It is His delight to make me well.  He wants to bring healing to me and see me happy and whole and enjoying life.  It is His greatest delight to see me healthy.

My Rock

Psalm 95:1; 94:22; 89:26; 78:35; 62:2,6-8; 71:3; 31:2,3

Today let’s make a confession from a combination of all these scriptures on God as our Rock.  In these times, we must rely on Him as the solidity of our lives, when other things are crumbling and breaking apart.  He is our Rock.  He does not break or even bend.  He is stable forever.  In Him we find our stability and strength.

Personalized Confession:

I will make a joyful noise to the Rock of my salvation.  The Lord is my high tower and defense and the Rock of my refuge.  I cry to Him Who is the Rock of my salvation.  I remember that God is my Rock, and the Most High God is my Redeemer.  He only is my Rock, my Salvation, My Defense, my Fortress.  I shall not be moved.  With God rests my salvation and my glory.  He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in Him.

I trust Him.

I lean on Him.

I rely on Him.

I have confidence in Him.

I pour out my heart before Him.

God is a Refuge for me—-a Fortress and High Tower.

He is my Rock and Fortress.

He is the Rock of Refuge in which I dwell and a sheltering stronghold in which I may continually resort.

God is my Refuge, my place of security and strength and protection.  He is strong.  He gives me strength as my Rock.
