{"id":794,"date":"2012-10-29T01:00:33","date_gmt":"2012-10-29T07:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sandbox.subsilioconsulting.com\/wordpress\/?p=794"},"modified":"2012-10-18T20:51:11","modified_gmt":"2012-10-19T02:51:11","slug":"prayer-teaching-10-29-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.kspministries.org\/wordpress\/2012\/10\/29\/prayer-teaching-10-29-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer Teaching 10-29-2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"background-repeat: no-repeat;\"><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Communion With God<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>What is prayer?\u00a0 We could give many answers for this question, but to me all answers are summed up in this phrase&#8212;-communication with God.<\/p>\n<p>When we pray, what we are doing is talking with God.\u00a0 It is not just about petitioning God with our requests.\u00a0 Prayer is about a relationship with the one to whom you are talking.\u00a0 Prayer begins with relationship.\u00a0 How can I fellowship with someone I don\u2019t know?\u00a0 All my communication with Him then becomes a matter of cold, legalistic involvement because I need something.\u00a0 Prayer is so much more than asking for supply of our needs<\/p>\n<p>Prayer is intimacy with my Father Who is my best friend, my papa, my daddy.\u00a0 Yes, He is mighty God, magnificent in power, full of splendor and majesty., to be greatly honored and respected and held in the highest esteem, but He is also my friend.\u00a0 I can come to Him in times of rejoicing and in times of sorrow, in times of questioning and in times of understanding.\u00a0 He is everything I ever need.\u00a0 I love to talk with Him.<\/p>\n<p>If you pray long enough in your life, there is a point where prayer moves from desire to discipline to delight.\u00a0 Your greatest pleasure is to spend time with the God of the universe Who is right there with His loving arms and loving lap to listen to you and also to talk with you.<\/p>\n<p>Here is another point we need to cover.\u00a0 Prayer is not a one-way avenue.\u00a0 It is a two-way communication between two people who love one another.\u00a0 God loves you and you loves Him.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, there are times when we have needs and we come before His Throne of Grace to find help in time of need, but then there are times of pure pleasure when we spend the entire time worshipping and praising Him.\u00a0 There are times when we are quiet and He talks.\u00a0 There are times of visions and supernatural encounters.\u00a0 There are times of intercession, standing in the gap for someone else or a family or a church or a nation.\u00a0 All of it is prayer.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s remember that prayer is intimate fellowship with God, being led by the Holy Spirit for that time of fellowship.\u00a0 It really is all about being led by the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Prayer is never dull with Him.\u00a0 If prayer is dull, then it has become a program, with the emphasis being on doing what I have to do, not because I want to do it.\u00a0 When that becomes my emphasis, I stop right where I am in my prayer attempt for that day and say:\u00a0 OK, Holy Spirit, come and help me here today.\u00a0 I want communion, not a legal relationship.<\/p>\n<p>Purpose this week to spend time getting to know the One with Whom you communicate in prayer.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Communion With God What is prayer?\u00a0 We could give many answers for this question, but to me all answers are summed up in this phrase&#8212;-communication with God.
