Authority of the Name of Jesus<\/b><\/p>\n
How do we enforce the victory Jesus has given us over sickness? \u00a0He has given us His name. \u00a0The Holy Spirit has come as our helper to teach us and equip us with the knowledge we need of God\u2019s Kingdom and how it operates. \u00a0Jesus\u2019 blood has been shed to wipe away all sickness and disease. \u00a0When those stripes were laid on His back, Isaiah 53:4,5 tells us that with the stripes that wounded Him we are healed and we are made whole. \u00a0In 1 Peter 2:24 in the New Testament we read that with the stripes that wounded Jesus we have been\u00a0healed and\u00a0made whole\u00a0(past tense, already done for us). \u00a0In addition to the name of Jesus, His blood and the Holy Spirit, we have God\u2019s written Word to guide us in all that we do.<\/p>\n
Before Jesus left this earth, He gave His authority to the church to use His name (the power of attorney, in other words) to enforce what He had done for His church, the Body of Christ.<\/p>\n
In\u00a0Matthew 28:18-20 we read that all power\u00a0is\u00a0given to\u00a0Jesus in heaven and in earth.\u00a0\u00a0He said: \u00a0You go, therefore, implying that we can have His power to go and do what must be done.\u00a0We are to teach people all that He has commanded us. \u00a0He is with us always, even unto the end of the world.<\/p>\n
In\u00a0Mark 16:15-18\u00a0Jesus\u00a0told us\u00a0that we are to go into all the world and preach the gospel. \u00a0Part of preaching the gospel is telling people that Jesus has borne their sicknesses and diseases. \u00a0He also told us that these signs would follow those who believe. \u00a0That is you and I. \u00a0In His name we shall cast out devils; we shall\u00a0speak\u00a0with new tongues;\u00a0if a serpent bites\u00a0us\u00a0or\u00a0we\u00a0drink any deadly thing accidentally, it will\u00a0not hurt us\u00a0(Paul proved that when the snake bit him.);\u00a0and we shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.<\/p>\n
What is it about the name of Jesus that\u00a0gives us\u00a0the ability\u00a0to do all these things listed in Mark 16? \u00a0A person\u2019s name, given to someone to use, is what we call power of attorney in earthly terms. \u00a0When someone authorizes you or me to use their name, we are basically doing things in their place. \u00a0We have been given the same power and authority they have to conduct business for them. \u00a0That is exactly what Jesus has done for His people. \u00a0He has given us His name to conduct business in the earth for Him while He is gone. \u00a0Part of that business is laying hands on the sick. \u00a0He assures us that when we lay hands on the sick in His name, they shall recover. \u00a0If that sick person is you personally, lay hands on yourself and expect to recover.<\/p>\n
In essence we are taking Jesus\u2019 place here on this earth, doing what He did when He was here with the authority of the name of the Father given to Him as power of attorney. \u00a0Even though Jesus was God, He laid aside His Godly anointing when He came here and took on the Father\u2019s anointing to do what He had to do, in the Father\u2019s name. \u00a0Now we do what we have to do in His name, with His anointing or power in us to get the job done.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t choke on being like Jesus. \u00a0He is the One Who gave us that anointing. \u00a0He is the One Who authorized the use of His name. \u00a0That is the plan that God set up from the time He created Adam and Eve. \u00a0When they messed up the plan, God had a way to reinstate His authority and power in mankind through His Son Jesus. \u00a0Now we have been given the authority of the name of Almighty God to use to receive healing for sickness and disease.<\/p>\n
What a beautiful partnership. \u00a0We get to see the results of the blessing of healing. \u00a0The Father gets the joy of seeing people set free from sickness and disease. \u00a0What a privilege to be given the honor to use the name of Jesus while He is away. \u00a0God thought of everything.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
