{"id":1795,"date":"2013-01-13T01:00:21","date_gmt":"2013-01-13T06:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kspministries.org\/wordpress\/?p=1795"},"modified":"2013-01-13T01:10:34","modified_gmt":"2013-01-13T06:10:34","slug":"prayer-teaching-01-01-2013-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.kspministries.org\/wordpress\/2013\/01\/13\/prayer-teaching-01-01-2013-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer Teaching 01-13-2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>WHAT IS PEACE?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>John 14:27, Amplified Bible<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you.\u00a0 Not as the world gives do I give to you.\u00a0 Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.\u00a0 [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]<\/p>\n<p>Peace is so much more than the absence of turmoil.\u00a0 The Hebrew word SHALOM indicates far more than absence of turmoil.\u00a0 In essence, it means: Completeness, wholeness, with nothing missing out of your life and nothing broken in your life.\u00a0 Most of us cannot say that exists in our lives.\u00a0 There is brokenness all over the place for us&#8212;-broken relationships, broken bodies, broken finances.\u00a0 My question to us is this:\u00a0 Why is it that we who have accepted Jesus as our Savior have the same brokenness dictating our lives as the world has?\u00a0 What is the problem with us?\u00a0 What is going on?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll tell you what the answer is:\u00a0 We know Jesus as our Savior but we do not know Him as our Prince of Peace.\u00a0 We are living in, and surrounded by, a world full of brokenness, a world of darkness and sin and sickness and poverty and broken relationships.\u00a0 Instead of pondering and submitting to that brokenness, we need to be submitting to the Peace of God, to His SHALOM, His wholeness.\u00a0 We as God\u2019s children are living in the Kingdom of God while we are here on this earth.\u00a0 We are to be living in His presence, the One Who is the Prince of Peace, the Prince of Wholeness.\u00a0 And we have been giving more attention to the brokenness of the world than the wholeness of Jesus.\u00a0 We have been allowing the world and its circumstances around us to determine the way we feel about our lives.\u00a0 Our focus has been on what is wrong rather than what is right with Jesus.\u00a0 We are looking with our physical eyes at the mess and listening to others describe the mess to us.<\/p>\n<p>When we take on the vision of Jesus as our Prince of Peace, we see wholeness in the middle of the mess and have confidence in Him to bring completeness out of chaos, wholeness out of brokenness, deliverance out of bondage, safety out of harm, and sweetness out of destruction.\u00a0 He is the One Who makes the desert bloom like the rose.\u00a0 He is the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the Valley.\u00a0 He takes our stinking circumstances and brings a sweet-smelling savor to make our world brighter when the one around us is dark.<\/p>\n<p>It is all about our focus.\u00a0 Where is our attention being drawn?\u00a0 That which is given priority on the inside of us will determine the direction of our prayer life.\u00a0 We are either praying from a place of turmoil or a place of peace.\u00a0 Turmoil brings the world\u2019s results.\u00a0 Peace brings God\u2019s results.\u00a0 Let us determine to learn to walk in God\u2019s peace.\u00a0 It is time we give the world an alternative to their destruction direction.\u00a0 Instead of their dictating our destiny, let us present to them by our words and actions a better way, a better plan, one which is a pathway of freedom.\u00a0 It is the way of PEACE.<\/p>\n<p>Lest you think that I am presenting a \u201clay me down rug\u201d mentality, do not be mistaken.\u00a0 God is a protector of His children.\u00a0 His peace is more powerful than anything the enemy can bring against us.\u00a0 Anything of God is His pure power.\u00a0 When we learn that, we have nothing to fear.\u00a0 His peace overrides anything brought against us.\u00a0 Remember that no weapon formed against us prospers, is successful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHAT IS PEACE?
