{"id":1156,"date":"2012-11-05T01:00:08","date_gmt":"2012-11-05T08:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sandbox.subsilioconsulting.com\/wordpress\/?p=1156"},"modified":"2012-10-18T21:20:53","modified_gmt":"2012-10-19T03:20:53","slug":"prayer-teaching-11-05-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.kspministries.org\/wordpress\/2012\/11\/05\/prayer-teaching-11-05-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer Teaching 11-05-2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"background-repeat: no-repeat;\"><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Give Thanks To The Lord<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Psalm 136 tells us why we are to give thanks to the Lord.\u00a0 I truly believe that this is to be our place of standing when we come before the Lord in prayer, before we do anything else.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Psalm 136:1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O give thanks to the Lord; for He is good; for His mercy <em>and<\/em> loving-kindness endure forever.<\/p>\n<p>Then the rest of Psalm 136 tells us the many reasons we can thank the Lord.\u00a0 He\u2019s the One Who made the earth.\u00a0 He is the One Who made us.\u00a0 He is the One Who brings us out from the oppression of the enemy, satan.\u00a0 The Lord is the One Who has redeemed us, delivered us from trouble.\u00a0 He Who made the earth and the heavens, sees our lowly estate and brings His mercy on the scene to help us.\u00a0 What an awesome God He is!<\/p>\n<p>God has given us a rich inheritance to enjoy.\u00a0 He not only has given us a rich inheritance; He is our inheritance.\u00a0 Glory to God!\u00a0 Everything He is and has is ours.\u00a0 What a cause to rejoice and give thanks to the Lord.\u00a0 He is good.\u00a0 He is a good God.\u00a0 O Lord, cause us to know Your goodness in the land of the living.<\/p>\n<p>Psalm 145 tells us we must speak of the glory of God\u2019s Kingdom and talk of His power.\u00a0 This is what we are to do in prayer.\u00a0 We are to magnify Him!\u00a0 We are to glorify Him!\u00a0 Unfortunately, many times what we do is magnify our problems and hardships, which is just what the devil wants because he knows that is not praying as God desires.\u00a0 That is focusing on the problem instead of the answer.\u00a0 Oh, I have done this so many times.\u00a0 We all have done it.\u00a0 You see, when we magnify God, we magnify the answer and give God the open pathway to bring the answer.\u00a0 But when we magnify the problem (because we really are hurting) we magnify the one who caused the problem in the first place, the devil himself.\u00a0 Oh, God, help us all!\u00a0 Yes, He is!<\/p>\n<p>Also in Psalm 145 we read that the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.\u00a0 He is slow to anger.\u00a0 He abounds in mercy and loving-kindness.\u00a0 He opens His hand and satisfies every living thing with favor or His love and power extended toward us.\u00a0 He preserves all those who love Him.\u00a0 This is only the beginning of the reasons to praise our Lord.<\/p>\n<p>Psalm 146 tells us to praise the Lord while we live.\u00a0 Sing praises to our God while we have our being.\u00a0 Put our trust in Him.\u00a0 Happy are those who trust Him.\u00a0 The Lord reigns forever.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, we end the Psalms with Psalm 150 which exhorts us to praise the Lord everywhere, all the time, with everything we have, our lips, our hands, our instruments, our dance.\u00a0 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>You have breath&#8212;-<strong>PRAISE THE LORD!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Give Thanks To The Lord Psalm 136 tells us why we are to give thanks to the Lord.\u00a0 I truly believe that this is to be our place of standing when we come before the Lord in prayer, before we do anything else.
